What is Reiki?
Reiki means “mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign.” It is an alternative therapy commonly referred as energy healing. It emerged in the late 1800s in Japan and believed to involve transfer of universal energy from the practitioner to patients.
It is natural, simple and a safe method of healing and self-improvement.
Reiki’s Health Benefits
Despite skepticism of many, it is growing in popularity. It advocates that it can treat many condition and emotional states. Healing effects are mediated by channeling qi(pronounced as “chi”) – the universal energy, the same energy used in tai-chi martial arts.
This promotes harmony and balance in the body and promotes natural balance between mind, body and spirit which help improve focus.
It also creates deep relaxation to help release stress and tension to aid better sleep and support physical body healing. It also assists in the body cleansing itself from toxins and support the immune system.
It helps fight stress, anxiety, depression and fatigue. It also may reduce blood pressure, improve quality of life and reduce pain in ailing patients and stimulate healing and growth.

How does it work?
It is held in a peaceful setting like Namaste Life Center then practitioner places hands on different areas of the body where the transfer of energy takes place. Some use crystals and chakra healing wands to enable healing or protect someone from a negative energy.
Typical session lasts for about 30 to 60 minutes. After each treatment, patients feel relaxed and experience reduced stress. Some people may need more than one session to feel the effects of Reiki. Your Reiki practitioner will let you know how many sessions are needed for you to actually heal.
